What will I be doing?
You’ll be responsible for one (or several) of the key lines at our Energy from Waste plant. That means you’ll continuously monitor, control, adjust and troubleshoot this line/s and the processes involved. The aim is to maximise availability and efficiency, while ensuring everything works in a safe, environmentally compliant way, according to regulations. Day-to-day, you’ll keep logs, flag up and deal with problems, operate the waste cranes and take samples. You’ll also deputise for the Shift Manager, which will give you the chance to enhance your skills, managing plant operations.
What are the requirements?
With a background in Mechanical, Electrical or Process Engineering, qualified ideally to HNC level (or equivalent) in a related subject, you’ll be familiar with all aspects of an EfW site or similar process plant environment. SUEZ will invest in you from day one with a structured development program based on experience and certifications required for the role include; a BOAS Cert IBO, a NEBOSH General Certificate, knowledge of root cause analysis, safe working procedures and accident investigation. If you don’t have all of the above don’t worry, as the extensive training programme will increase and develop your skills and expertise, providing you with the additional skills you need.
Additional beneficial experience includes managing SSOW (safe systems of work), working with boilers, incinerators, high voltage switchgear and ideally be / have been a fire marshal with First Aid training. From start through to completion of your training programme, you’ll be a valuable member of the site team.
