.What will I be doing?
Reporting to the Aftercare Technician, the Aftercare Operative will be responsible for carrying out environmental monitoring and reporting, undertaking maintenance and operation of landfill site control systems and the recording environmental/ operational monitoring data. The candidate will also be responsible for the compliance and observance of site Environmental Permits whilst operating and observing the SUEZ policies and procedures and Health and Safety Policy. The successful candidate will work within the Operations Department of Landfill Energy and with close collaboration with the Operations Managers and fellow team members.
- The role will involve the monitoring and operation of landfill site systems including landfill gas, leachate, groundwater, surface water and other parameters, as required by the individual Environmental Permits for a wide range of operational and non-operational restored landfill sites.
- The range of duties will also include some administrative tasks including measuring and recording site data, producing reports, assisting in the implementation of monitoring management plans, updating records, and interpreting analysis reports and assisting in specialist project work.
What are the requirements?
- Applicants must be able to demonstrate initiative and, when required, be able to work alone. As part of a wider team the successful candidate must have good communication skills and with the ability to pay particular attention to detail and be willing to undertake additional training to acquire new skills when required.
- Applicants must be able to work reasonably flexible working hours as required by the business, including some travel to other regions to support other colleagues as required.
- Applicants must have a full UK driving licence and be computer literate.
- Experience of landfill sites is desirable but not essential as training will be given.
