About the role

What will I be doing?

Working 12-hour shifts (days and nights, averaging 37.5 hours per week with great blocks of time off in between), you'll help keep our plant running safely and efficiently:

  • Monitor, control, and optimise plant processes using the Distributed Control System (DCS), quickly identifying and resolving issues to maintain performance.
  • Operate and maintain water tube boilers, including water analysis, chemistry monitoring, and ensuring optimal operation.
  • Perform system isolations safely when required to protect people, plant, and the environment.
  • Ensure full compliance with health & safety, environmental legislation, and all operational protocols during normal running, start-ups, shutdowns, and emergencies.
  • Carry out regular checks, fault diagnosis, and support safe, reliable energy generation from waste.

What are the requirements?
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and experience levels — enthusiasm for sustainable operations matters as much as technical skills:

  • Experience in energy recovery, power plants, waste-to-energy, or similar industrial processes (essential).
  • Knowledge of boilers, combustion, process control, and relevant health & safety / environmental legislation.
  • Preferred: BOAS Cert IBO and/or IOSH Working Safely qualifications (don't have them? No problem — we'll support your development from day one!).
  • DCS system operation experience (desired but not essential — training provided where needed).
