About The Role
- You will be based at our SUEZ Renew Hub, Trafford Park, M17 1SX.
- You will be earning £26,227.50 per annum.
- You will be working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:00am - 16:00pm
Training and Qualification
- Enrolment on a City & Guilds Level 2 Bicycle Maintenance qualification.
- Combination of on-the-job training and off-the-job learning.
- Regular assessments and skill development reviews.
- Progression in responsibility and technical competence over the 2-year programme.

What are the requirements?
Essential:
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Basic understanding of mechanical principles (or willingness to learn)
- Ability to follow instructions accurately, both verbal and written
- Willingness to learn how to use hand tools and workshop equipment safely
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Positive attitude and commitment to learning
- Understanding the importance of excellent customer service
- A genuine interest in bicycles and cycle maintenance.
Desirable:
- Some previous experience in cycle maintenance (paid, voluntary, or personal)
- Previous customer service or retail experience, preferably within the cycle industry
What will you be doing as an apprentice bicycle mechanic?
Under the guidance of experienced technicians, the apprentice will:
- Examine bicycles and identify components that may need repair, replacement, or adjustment
- Assist with installing, repairing, and replacing bicycle components including handlebars, seats, lights, stands, and accessories
- Adjust bicycle components in line with customer requests or company specifications
- Install and adjust speed, brake, and gear mechanisms
- Fit new bicycle parts and accessories as directed
- Assist with disassembling axles and other components to repair or replace faulty parts
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
- Develop product knowledge and understanding of the cycle industry
- Support customer service activities, including communicating clearly with customers about repairs
- Work effectively as part of a small team and contribute positively to the workplace
- Be flexible to work weekends when required
- Carry out any other related duties
