About the role

What you’ll be doing

As a Plant Operator, you’ll play a key role in the safe and efficient running of our Epsom site. You’ll operate loading shovels, forklift trucks (FLT) and tele‑handlers, loading a range of vehicles including curtain‑sided trailers, shipping containers and bulk haulage walking floors. Your work will directly support responsible waste management and sustainable resource recovery.

Your day‑to‑day activities will include:

- Operating fixed machinery such as baling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Completing pre‑operational safety checks and daily maintenance on mobile and fixed plant.
- Ensuring all waste deliveries comply with the site licence and completing associated documentation.
- Inspecting incoming materials in line with Waste Acceptance Criteria and reporting any non‑compliant loads.
- Directing customer vehicles to the correct disposal areas and assisting with off‑loading when required.
- Meeting all export requirements, including photographs, paperwork and container seals.
- Supporting Sampling Operatives with the collection of output samples.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment, including end‑of‑shift clean‑downs.
- Contributing to lean and 5S activities to improve efficiency and site standards.
- Working collaboratively as part of a team to ensure smooth, cost‑effective operations.
- Following all company procedures and supporting SUEZ in meeting its legal Health & Safety responsibilities.

What we’re looking for

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. To make an immediate impact, we ideally seek an experienced Plant Operator with relevant CITB, CPCS, NPORS or equivalent certification. However, for the right candidate, full training can be provided.

You’ll thrive in this role if you bring:
