About The Role
Location: Hexham Transfer Station (French Garden Industrial Estate, Hexham, Northumberland NE46 4DL)
- Salary £12.71 per hour
- Working 47.5 hours per week
- Monday to Thursday from 07.30 to 17.30 (4 x 10 hour shifts), Friday 07.30 to 15.00 (1 x 7.5 hour shift), with 30 minutes paid break for lunch

What will I be doing?
- Ensuring that within your areas of responsibility, SUEZ R & R complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees and of other people who may be affected by his/her actions or omissions
- Co-operating with SUEZ R & R and with other employees in order to comply with site permit and all applicable legislation which complies with SUEZ R & R Policies and Procedures.
- To undertake first aider duties and fire warden duties on site.
- Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job-role
- Operating the weighbridge and following waste acceptance procedures to ensure correct and safe import and export of materials.
- Operating the loading shovel to stockpile material and load wagons for the export of material
- Maintaining accurate records for the import and export of material and of all activities on the site.
- Daily Stock takes and daily input of load details for stand alone HWRC’s
- Maintenance of site equipment and tools
- Ensuring that within his/her areas of responsibility, SUEZ Recycling & Recovery UK Ltd complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees and of other people who may be affected by his/her actions or omissions. Including site visitors and contractors.
- Co-operating with SUEZ R & R UK Ltd and with other employees in order to comply with site permit, all applicable legislation and SUEZ R & R UK Ltd Policies and Procedures

What are the requirements?
We are looking for an enthusiastic team player, who will be expected to obtain a full working understanding of the site licence / permit and who will work to ensure site operations exceed the standards required.
- A flexible approach to work will be advantageous, as you will be expected to cover holiday and sick days if required.
- The successful applicant will be required to undertake personal development to obtain skills for waste acceptance, operation and maintenance of site equipment.
- Having basic administration skills for the recording of data on SUEZ R & R UK’s reporting systems will also be advantageous.
