About the role

What will I be doing?

You'll help keep our advanced control systems running safely and efficiently:

  • Deliver planned and reactive EC&I maintenance across the plant to maximise reliability and performance.
  • Provide specialist expertise on key equipment including Continuous Emissions Monitoring (CEMs) and the Distributed Control System (DCS).
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot PLCs and instrumentation issues quickly and effectively.
  • Offer guidance, supervision and development support to junior technicians and the wider team.
  • Participate in a 1-in-5 on-call rota for essential out-of-hours cover (fully compensated).

We understand that you may have morning school runs or caring responsibilities, and offer flexibility around core hours to support this.

What are the requirements?

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and experience levels — your practical skills and safety mindset matter most:

  • Completed relevant engineering apprenticeship and qualified to City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
  • Solid experience in PLCs, instrumentation troubleshooting, and DCS systems.
  • C&G 2377 PAT Testing qualification.
  • Health & Safety qualification (IOSH or similar; training support available if needed).

We particularly encourage applications from underrepresented groups in engineering, energy, and sustainability. If you need any reasonable adjustments during the application or interview process, please let us know — we’re committed to being an inclusive employer.
