EfW Senior Mechanical Technician
Are you a Senior Mechanical Technician / Engineer with a background in process engineering, ideally within Energy from Waste (EfW), power generation or heavy industry? Do you want your work to contribute directly to sustainability, energy recovery and the circular economy?

Salary: £45,881 plus up to 10% bonusBenefits: 5% company pension, 3 x life assurance policy, 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays and access to a wide benefits catalogue.
Location: Aberdeen
Hours: 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday - On call Rota 1 in 4 (on call allowance 6% of base salary paid monthly)

What will I be doing?
As an EfW Senior Mechanical Technician, you’ll play a key role in keeping our energy recovery plant operating safely, efficiently and sustainably. You’ll combine hands‑on technical expertise with people leadership, helping to develop others while ensuring high standards across the site.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Planning and delivering mechanical maintenance activities to maximise plant availability and reliability
• Leading, coaching and mentoring technicians, supporting skills development and knowledge sharing
• Ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation at all times
• Providing specialist technical advice and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
• Taking a cost‑effective, best‑practice approach to maintenance without compromising safety or quality
What are the requirements?
We’re looking for a confident, inclusive leader with a strong practical background in maintenance within a regulated, heavy‑industry environment.
You’ll bring:
• An HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent hands‑on experience)
• Proven experience in a maintenance role within EfW, power generation, manufacturing or similar sectors
• Good working knowledge of environmental and safety legislation
• The ability to communicate technical information clearly to different audiences
• A collaborative leadership style focused on performance, learning and safety
A formal Health & Safety qualification is desirable, but not essential.
