What you'll be doing
Reporting to the Senior Site Manager, you’ll lead daily site operations with a strong focus on safety and performance:
- Supervise day-to-day running of the recycling centre, ensuring full compliance with health & safety, environmental standards, and SUEZ policies.
- Manage and deploy staff and resources efficiently, while providing clear leadership and support to the team.
- Monitor operations, supervise personnel and fixed plant, and drive continuous improvements in quality and efficiency.
- Handle monthly payroll hours, maintain budgetary control, and order equipment and resources as needed.
- Promote a positive safety culture and ensure all activities meet required health & safety legislation.
What we're looking for
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds — what matters most is your passion for recycling and ability to lead teams:
- Demonstrable passion for recycling coupled with strong communication and people skills.
- Experience supervising and developing engaged teams to deliver high operational standards.
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification (or willingness to work towards it).
- Broad knowledge of plant equipment is desirable but not essential — full training will be provided.
We particularly encourage applications from underrepresented groups in waste management and recycling. If you need any reasonable adjustments during the application or interview process, please let us know — we’re committed to being an inclusive employer.
This role offers genuine responsibility, the chance to lead and mentor a team, ongoing development opportunities, and the satisfaction of contributing directly to a greener Aberdeen.
