About the role

What will I be doing?

As an Engineering Maintenance Technician Apprentice (Dual Discipline), you’ll play a key part in keeping our operations safe, efficient and sustainable across multiple sites in the region.

This role is ideal for anyone looking for an entry‑level opportunity, a graduate pathway, or a meaningful first step into a long‑term career in engineering, maintenance and sustainability.
You’ll gain hands‑on experience while working towards the Engineering Maintenance Technician – Dual Discipline Apprenticeship, giving you a strong foundation in both mechanical and electrical engineering.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the safe operation and maintenance of fixed plant equipment, covering both mechanical and electrical tasks.
  • Learning and undertaking mobile plant duties – full training provided.
  • Working across multiple operational sites, building adaptability and practical engineering knowledge.
  • Contributing to a culture of safety, continuous improvement and environmental responsibility.
  • Applying your learning on real engineering challenges with support, mentoring and structured development.

Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll be supported by experienced colleagues, ongoing training, and opportunities to grow your confidence, technical skills and problem‑solving abilities. You’ll also play a part in our wider commitment to sustainability and responsible operations, helping us reduce environmental impact and champion better ways of working.

What are the requirements?

We welcome applications from people of all ages and backgrounds, including those starting their first career, changing careers, or returning to work. If you’re curious, safety‑minded and eager to learn, we’d love to hear from you.

To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally bring:

  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent). If you don’t have these yet, please still apply — functional skills support may be available.
  • A full UK driving licence, as travel between sites is required.
  • A genuine interest in engineering, problem‑solving and hands‑on practical work.
  • Willingness to travel across sites and work in a variety of operational environments.
  • A positive attitude, reliability and a commitment to safe working practices.

We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion, and we encourage applications from underrepresented groups, including women in engineering, people from ethnically diverse backgrounds, people with disabilities and people of all ages. If you need reasonable adjustments at any stage of the recruitment process or during the apprenticeship, just let us know — we’re happy to support you.

If you’re looking for a purpose‑driven role with real responsibility, structured development, and the chance to build a long‑term engineering career, this apprenticeship could be the perfect fit.
