Electrical Engineer
SUEZ Recycling and Recovery UK is seeking a motivated and experienced Electrical Engineer to support our energy-from-waste, Landfill and resource recovery facilities across the UK. This is a varied and hands-on role where you will provide technical expertise on electrical systems while working closely with operational teams and other engineering disciplines to enhance plant reliability, performance, and safety.

40% UK travel (On average 2–3 days per week, including overnight stays)

Location: UK – flexible base at any SUEZ site national travel required
Salary: £48,643 – £52,500 per annum
Benefits: Company Car or Car Allowance (up to £8,200), Annual Bonus up to 10%, 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays, 3x life assurance policy.

What will I be doing?
As an Electrical Engineer, you will work closely with experienced engineers and operational staff, assisting with engineering projects, fault-finding, and system improvements across our sites. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a practical, real-world environment while contributing to a company committed to sustainability and innovation.
Key Responsibilities• Provide technical support and expertise on electrical systems, equipment, and infrastructure across SUEZ energy and processing facilities.
• Support site teams in troubleshooting, fault finding, and resolving high and low voltage electrical issues to maintain safe and efficient operations.
• Manage engineering projects including developing specifications, preparing tender documentation, evaluating suppliers, and overseeing installation and commissioning activities.
• Electrical system modelling using ETAP software
• Work collaboratively with operations, maintenance teams, and other engineering disciplines to improve reliability, efficiency, and plant performance.
• Provide hands-on engineering support when required.
• Ensure all engineering activities comply with relevant standards, legislation, and SUEZ safety policies.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the business by identifying opportunities to enhance electrical system performance and resilience.
Requirements:
• Degree, HND, HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with industrial electrical systems, ideally within energy, process, waste, or heavy industrial environments.
• A good understanding of high voltage systems, previous High voltage authorisation would be advantages
• Experience with Instrumentation and Control (I&C) systems would be beneficial.
• Proven experience managing engineering projects, including producing technical specifications and managing contractors.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills with a practical engineering approach.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and site personnel.
• Willingness to travel to sites across the UK as required.Who we are
