What you'll be doing
Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you’ll ensure the facility operates at peak performance:
- Lead the maintenance team in planning and delivering planned preventative and reactive maintenance to maximise plant availability and reliability.
- Manage maintenance resources, budgets, spares inventory, and the maintenance management system effectively.
- Champion health & safety, environmental compliance, and best-practice standards across all maintenance activities.
- Develop and implement strategic improvements to maintenance processes, costs, and overall plant performance.
- Provide strong leadership, coaching, and development support to your team while collaborating closely with operations and other departments.
What we're looking for
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds — your leadership ability and technical experience are what count:
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager or senior Maintenance Engineer in power generation, energy from waste, chemical processing, or heavy industrial environments.
- Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, supported by a degree, HNC, or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Demonstrable commercial awareness, strategic planning skills, and successful team leadership.
- Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) — highly desirable.
- A proactive, safety-focused mindset with the ability to manage budgets and drive continuous improvement.
We particularly encourage applications from underrepresented groups in engineering, energy, and sustainability sectors. If you require any reasonable adjustments during the application or interview process, please let us know — we're committed to being an inclusive employer.
