EfW Shift Operations Technician
Do you have experience in a process / plant environment within the power generation, chemical process / manufacturing, waste water treatment, biomass or similar industry?
SUEZ are looking for EfW Shift Operation Technicians to join our Tees Valley Site.

Location: Energy From Waste Plant, Haverton Hill Road, BILLINGHAM, TS23 1PY
Shift Rotation: 2 days 2 nights, 4 on 4 off, 3 rotations 10 day break. 37.5 hour weeks.

What will I be doing?
You’ll work directly with critical EfW plant systems, helping to convert waste into energy safely, efficiently and in line with environmental legislation.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring, controlling and adjusting plant processes to keep operations safe and efficient
- Managing and sampling water tube boilers, analysing results and responding to issues
- Identifying, troubleshooting and resolving process or equipment problems
- Isolating plant systems when required to maintain safe operations
- Playing an active role in safety, environmental compliance and continuous improvement
What are the requirements?
- A background in mechanical, electrical or process engineering within an EfW site or similar process plant
- Knowledge of boilers, process control, instrumentation and environmental legislation
- A Process Plant Operations Qualification (Level 1, 2 or 3) or equivalent experience in a chemical or energy facility
- Holding or willingness to work towards certifications such as BOAS Cert IBO and IOSH Working Safely, with good IT skills
- A collaborative mindset and motivated to continuously improve
