Routing, Data & optimisation Specialist

SUEZ have an exciting opportunity for someone who is an analytical thinker with strong numeracy skills.

As a Routing, Data and Optimisation Specialist, you’ll use advanced route optimisation software, modelling techniques, and data analytics to design and refine round and beat routes for Collections and Street Cleansing. Your work will support our commitment to innovation, environmental responsibility, and continuous improvement across multiple contracts. 

 

Salary: £43,562 - £45,000 

Benefits: up to 10% annual bonus, company car or car allowance, 3 x Life Assurance Policy, 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holiday, 5% employer contribution pension. 

Hours: Mon-Fri Full time is 37.5 hours per week, part time or job share options are available on request 

Location: Based in the South West, ideally in Bristol but can also work out of our Weston-super-mare or Maidenhead Office. 

About the role

What will I be doing?

  • Interpret, merge and analyse large datasets from clients and internal systems to drive service optimisation, sustainability improvements, and operational efficiency.
  • Produce detailed, data‑driven round and beat routes using optimisation tools, modelling and statistical techniques.
  • Provide Contract and Regional Managers with clear option appraisals, guidance on service parameters, and recommendations throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Promote and document best practice in route optimisation, supporting a culture of continuous improvement across municipal services.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business, ensuring optimisation initiatives align with wider municipal development strategies.

What are the requirements?

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage a range of stakeholders and present information clearly.
  • Ability to assemble, interpret and visualise data from contracts, regional statistics, national trends, and open data sources.
  • The ability to work collaboratively, manage changing priorities, and positively influence decision‑making processes.
  • This is a great opportunity for an individual with a Maths Degree or experience in Data Analytics
