About the role

Reporting to the Head of Municipal Development, you'll lead complex public sector bid opportunities from pre-qualification through to contract award, financial close and mobilisation. This is an opportunity to take ownership of high-profile projects that directly support the UK's sustainability and circular economy goals.

Working with multidisciplinary internal and external teams, you'll develop robust technical and commercial solutions, build strong customer relationships and act as a trusted representative for SUEZ throughout the bid process.

What will I be doing?

  • Lead and manage municipal waste, recycling and resource recovery tenders from qualification through to contract award and mobilisation.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality, compliant and competitive bid submissions on time.
  • Develop innovative technical and commercial solutions that meet customer requirements and support sustainable outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, stakeholders and partners throughout the bid lifecycle.
  • Support wider business development and growth projects within the Municipal Development team where required.

What are the requirements?

  • You will have strong project management skills and ideally hold a project management qualification such as Prince2, Agile, Lean Six Sigma or similar.

  • Proven experience leading complex bids, ideally within public sector, waste management, recycling, organics, HWRC or environmental services sectors.

  • Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills, with an understanding of local authority decision-making and procurement processes.

  • Degree-level qualification (or equivalent experience), with CIWM membership desirable.
