EfW Maintenance Technician – Electrical, Control and Instrumentation

SUEZ are looking for an EC&I Maintenance Technician to join our team. You'll play a key role in maintaining critical plant systems, troubleshooting complex control equipment, and supporting safe, efficient operations.

About the role

Salary: £47,174 - £51,687

Benefits: up to 10% annual bonus, 3x life assurance policy, 25 days holiday (plus 8 bank holidays), 5% employer pension, sick pay and additional benefits

Hours: 37.5 hours per week Mon-Fri

Location: SUEZ Energy from Waste Facility - Richmond Hill - Braddan - Isle of Man – IM4 1JH

About the role

What will I be doing?

As an EC&I Maintenance Technician, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of our Energy from Waste facility. 
You'll carry out both planned and reactive maintenance across a wide range of electrical, control and instrumentation systems, helping to maximise plant availability and performance.
 

  • You will provide on-site expertise on specialist equipment such as the CEMs (Emissions monitoring) and DCS/PLCs. You should also provide cross functional support to other team members, as and when required.
  • Supporting the installation, testing, commissioning and modification of plant equipment, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and engineering standards.
  • Diagnosing and resolving instrumentation and control issues to minimise downtime and improve plant performance.
  • Working closely with operations and maintenance colleagues to support safe and efficient plant operations.
     

What are the requirements?

  • Completed relevant engineering apprenticeship and qualified to City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of wiring regulations BS7671 (18th edition)
  • ​Solid experience in PLCs, instrumentation troubleshooting, and DCS systems.
  • Instrumentation experience and troubleshooting
  • Emissions monitoring qualification/experience (Training can be provided)
  • Suitable health and safety qualification/experience (Training can be provided)
  • the ideal candidate would be multiskilled or willing to be trained
