Senior Site Manager AD

SUEZ is recruiting a Senior Site Manager to join our new Anaerobic Digestion Facility in Ashington, Northumberland. This site plays a vital role in diverting waste from landfill, generating renewable energy, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and supporting a circular economy.

Salary: £43,562 - £51,098

Benefits: up to 10% annual bonus, 3x life assurance policy, sick pay, 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays,  5% employer pension, Overtime Available 

Location: Ellington Road, Newmoor Ashington , Northumberland ,NE63 9XS

Hours: 7.30am - 16.30pm Monday - Friday 

 

About the role

What will I be doing?

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day management of the Anaerobic Digestion Facility, with direct responsibility for the Assistant Site Manager and site operations team. You'll play a key role in delivering safe, efficient and compliant operations while helping drive the site's environmental and commercial performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading daily operations to ensure safe, reliable and efficient site performance.
  • Managing budgets, maximising revenue opportunities and supporting operational profitability.
  • Ensuring plant, equipment and machinery are maintained to the highest standards.
  • Driving a positive safety culture and maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Building a high-performing team focused on continuous improvement, customer service and operational excellence.
     

What are the requirements?

We're looking for a confident leader with experience managing a technical process, production, waste management or anaerobic digestion facility.

  • Proven experience in a Site Manager, Senior Site Manager or similar operational leadership role.
  • Ability to manage a complex, highly technical process while maintaining budgetary control and compliance standards.
  • Strong commercial awareness, decision-making skills and the ability to lead and develop teams.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • A COTC qualification in Anaerobic Digestion and a NEBOSH General Certificate would be advantageous.
