About the Role 

  • £42,500 as a base salary + Use of a company car + up to 10% Bonus + Benefits
  • Based at Wellingborough, but there will be travel expected around the central region. 
  • Monday - Friday
     
About the role

What will I be doing?

  • Supporting the Regional Operations Manager in maintaining high standards of operational performance, compliance, service delivery, and safety across multiple sites.
  • Driving continuous improvement in health, safety, environmental, and operational compliance through coaching, auditing, training, and proactive intervention.
  • Conducting site audits, risk assessments, management checks, and safety inspections to identify risks and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Delivering inductions, driver assessments, competency evaluations, and targeted training programmes to improve operational standards and reduce accidents and incidents.
  • Promoting a positive safety culture by engaging with operational teams and encouraging safe behaviours across the workforce.
  • Supporting accident and incident investigations, identifying root causes, sharing lessons learned, and implementing preventative measures.
  • Monitoring regional health and safety performance, analysing trends, and providing practical recommendations to improve compliance and operational performance.
  • Supporting site management teams with the implementation of company procedures, safe systems of work, and statutory requirements.
  • Leading and supporting regional improvement projects focused on operational efficiency, compliance, and safety performance.
  • Producing management reports and performance data to measure progress, track compliance, and support decision-making.

What are the requirements?

  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, operational compliance requirements, and risk management principles.
  • Experience within waste management, logistics, transport, manufacturing, utilities, or a similar operational environment.
  • Proven ability to influence behavioural change and drive measurable improvements in health, safety, and operational performance.
  • Experience delivering training, coaching, competency assessments, and practical operational support.
  • Strong accident investigation, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently whilst building strong relationships across multiple sites and operational teams.
  • Experience conducting site audits, safety inspections, driver assessments, and compliance reviews.
  • Full Class 1 or Class 2 HGV driving licence.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly across regional operational sites.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) desirable.
  • IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent) desirable.
