Senior Bid Manager

About the Role
Salary: £57,059 - £66,930 per annum (dependent on experience) plus Company Car/Car Allowance
Benefits: Up to 20% annual bonus, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, Holiday Buyback Scheme, 5% pension contribution, 3x life assurance and a comprehensive benefits package supporting your wellbeing and career development.
Location: Hybrid working, national role. Travel across the UK will be required for customer engagement, stakeholder meetings and networking opportunities.

What will I be doing?
- Leading the end-to-end bid management process for strategic corporate tenders, from qualification through to contract award, financial approval and mobilisation handover.
- Managing, coaching and developing a team of Bid Managers, creating a high-performance culture that enables individuals and teams to achieve their full potential.
- Providing visible leadership across complex bid programmes, ensuring teams remain motivated, collaborative and focused on delivering winning submissions.
- Driving continuous improvement across bid processes, governance, review frameworks and bid library content to improve quality, efficiency and win rates.
- Building compelling, customer-focused proposals by bringing together operational, commercial, technical and leadership stakeholders across the business.
What are the requirements?
- Proven experience leading complex B2B bids, tenders or procurement submissions, with a strong track record of securing high-value contract wins and delivering successful commercial outcomes.
- Demonstrable people management experience, including leading, coaching and developing successful bid teams. You'll have a proven ability to inspire performance, build capability and lead teams through demanding tender processes.
- Strong knowledge of UK procurement frameworks, commercial contracting practices and bid governance, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Experience within waste management, recycling, resource recovery, environmental services, utilities, infrastructure or similarly regulated sectors.
- Desirable but not essential: experience using Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools within the bid and tender process to enhance content development, knowledge management, opportunity analysis or bid efficiency. Relevant qualifications such as APMP Foundation or Practitioner, ACBTM, Certification in Bid Management, or equivalent demonstrable experience delivering successful bids would be advantageous.
