As a Site Operative at SUEZ, recycling and recovery UK, you’ll be contributing to an ever growing established company that’s helping customers reduce their impact on the environment, conserve natural resources and reduce landfill.

About the role

  • This position is a PERMANENT POSITION
  • This position is for a shift pattern working over the 7 days.  Site opening hours (Summer April – October 0745am -1915pm)  and ( Winter Nov – March  0745am -18.15pm)
  • Working a shift pattern over a 7 day operation with a 30 minute unpaid break each day. There may be extra hours required depending on business needs.
  • The pay rate for this role is £8.80 per hour

What will I be doing?

  • You will be advising and assisting the public on how to use the site in order to maximise recovery of materials deposited in the sites
  • Other responsibilities are maintaining accurate for the removal of materials from the site, controlling the exchange of containers by booking loads with the relevant person thus ensuring the site always has space to segregate and store material correctly.
  • The post holder will maintain a tidy site within his/her areas of responsibility and ensure Suez complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of  its employees and of other people who may be affected by his/her actions or omissions.
  • The successful candidate will be able to co-operate with Suez and with other employees in order to comply with the site permit, comply with all applicable legislation and Suez‘s Policies and Procedures.
  • Other duties may be reasonably requested within the scope of the job – role. Training may be given for the operation of the plant machinery on site.
  • You may be required to travel to other sites in the area for staff cover and to undertake training as required, your own transport will be an advantage.

What are the requirements?

  • We are looking for an enthusiastic team player to fit into the existing team on site.
  • The successful person must be self – motivated and have the ability to work under their own initiative.
  • You will be expected to have an understanding of the site licence /permit and will work to ensure site operations exceed the standards required.
  • A flexible approach to work will be advantageous as you will be expected to cover holiday and sickness if required.
  • Plant experience would advantageous, but not essential as training will be given.
