The Role

Based at Immingham and working on a rotating shift pattern,  the Operations Technician is responsible on a day to day basis for operating the treatment processes associated with the water treatment plant and cooling water dosing systems on site. As well as daily operational routines, the Technician will be expected to assist the maintenance team in the implementation of front line planned maintenance tasks as produced by the customer’s maintenance management system.

What will I be doing?

Operate the water treatment plants and associated equipment to ensure that water quality and quantity produced is within the specifications required by the customer, as well as, assist the maintenance team in carrying out front line maintenance as required e.g. cartridge filter changes, RO bank cleans, greasing and lubrication. You'll carry out duties in a safe manner to ensure that there is a minimum risk of harm to people or the environment as a result of plant operations.

You'll  also monitor the performance of the assets and carry out actions to ensure that the assets perform at an optimum level at all times.

What is required?

Basic knowledge of water treatment processes e.g. filtration, flocculation, reverse osmosis, ion exchange, what they do, how they do it, common applications and problems, is desirable for the role but you must be able to demonstrate through previous work experience, an ability to interpret technical information to affect changes on the plant.
