About the role

What will I be doing?

You will be responsible for the development of Municipal Projects sales, directly to water supply companies and alliance partners (drinking water, wastewater, bio-solids & reuse), in the UK and Ireland region. The focus will be on Municipal integrated project solutions (Design & Build) and Services around them, with core technologies based around the SUEZ technology portfolio, including Ultrafiltration (UF), Membrane Bio-Reactors (MBR), Reserve Osmosis (RO), Electrodialysis (EDR) and sludge treatment.

You will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organisation, manage complex issues within your functional area of expertise, be involved in long-term planning and contribute to the overall business strategy, through activity including:

  • You will manage the entire sales process for assigned clients including lead generation with new and existing customers, qualifying of opportunities, forecasting and closing deals.
  • You will understand customers’ needs, qualify leads, and work closely with Engineering and Proposal Management to provide competitive solutions to customers.
  • You will develop the region across the SUEZ WTS portfolio & solutions by supporting associated consultancies, engineering contractors, municipalities and industry.
  • You will agree orders and margin targets for your regional market, with an incentive program to drive performance and reward.
  • Whether supporting project managers / engineers in the preparation of bids and handover procedures, or utilising expertise from proposal / product management teams, you will develop a pipeline of well-qualified projects which will provide short, medium and long-term success.
  • A largely customer facing role there will be the requirement for frequent travel to water works sites and businesses, plus the opportunity to support new products launch campaigns and European accounts, contributing to global initiatives (typically up to 75% travel with occasional international trips).

What are the requirements?

  • With a demonstrable sales track record, specifically within municipal water, waste water or bio-solids / sludge treatment, you will have a sound understanding of the water market dynamics coupled with an extended network of contacts in the related water industry sector. Additionally you will need:
  • Ideally degree qualified (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline but must have a good level of relevant technical competency and associated training,
  • Proven expertise in water, waste water and sludge treatment, with focus in municipal.
