Working as part of a European team, you will share your specialist water and engineering knowledge and expertise to support new business development, improve margin and develop customer portfolios. Core activities will include:

  • Drive introduction for new product initiatives (NPIs) and direct material productivity improvements (DMP).
  • Work closely with internal (commercial teams) and external (industry contacts) customers to evaluate, and support new business initiatives.
  • Support and perform technical audits and provide treatment recommendations in support of existing applications and new business opportunities (responding to request for quotations (RFQs), optimising treatment programs and troubleshooting systems).
  • Stay on top of industry trends, new chemical treatment technology, monitoring and analytical tools, water treatment equipment, and regulations to identify market opportunities and product needs.
  • Work closely with the technology lab, the applications lab and metallurgical Lab in Belgium as related to customer service studies and/or customer metallurgical analyses.

What are the requirements?

As a technical specialist you’ll need to be well qualified and have substantial knowledge and experience in chemical treatment of water systems for the industrial engineering sectors, and have the opportunity to develop these skills:

  • Working independently you’ll need excellent organisational and communication skills, including conveying complex technical issues, plus the flexibility to travel both domestically and internationally (up to 45% of the time).
  • Educated to minimum degree level (or equivalent) in chemistry, chemical or related engineering discipline.
  • Significant experience of chemical treatment of water systems in refinery, power plant, or other chemical plant process industry.
  • Direct experience in boilers, with any specific knowledge of fuels and combustion, membrane chemicals and geothermal product applications in treatment chemistry highly beneficial.
