As a Plant Operative at SUEZ, recycling and recovery UK, you’ll be contributing to an ever growing established company that’s helping customers reduce their impact on the environment, conserve natural resources and reduce landfill.

About the Role

  • This position is a 6 month fixed term role, working 46 hours per week Monday - Sunday.
  • £9.28/hour and overtime as necessary.

What will I be doing?

  • Operation of wheeled shovel/360/wheeled 360/Forklift Truck and if appropriately trained, any other fixed or mobile plant in use
  • Operation of shredders
  • Completion of relevant paperwork and returned to the shift supervisor
  • Cover of site banksman/weighbridge (if appropriately trained and certified), litter picking, cleaning and sweeping, working outdoors and other appropriate duties
  • Dealing with the contractors
  • Maximise recycling and recovery within the facility
  • Minimise the amount of waste that is sent to landfill
  • Working to procedures as laid out in the company’s quality system
  • Recording the defects on the defect sheet and notifying your line manager as necessary
  • Ensure pedestrian and vehicle segregation at all times.
  • Ensuring SUEZ complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees and of other people who may be affected by his/her actions or omissions.
  • Co-operating with SUEZ and with other employees in order to comply with the site permit, comply with all applicable legislation, and SUEZ Policies and Procedures.
  • Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job-role.
  • Providing excellent levels of customer service.
  • Carrying out all aspects of 5S and Lean production

What are the requirements? (Experience and qualifications)

  • We are looking for an enthusiastic team player, who will be expected to join the current site team to ensure site operations exceed the standards required.
  • You need to have good communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • You require experience operating mobile/fixed plant and have the qualifications for appropriate items of plant.
  • A flexible approach to work will be advantageous as you will be expected to cover holiday and sick days if required.
