About the role

  • The role will be Monday to Friday (45 hours).
  • A competitive hourly rate of £9.46 per hour is offered with this role.

What will I be doing?

  • Be confident in operating various plant and machinery with an understanding of defect reporting procedures.
  • Carry out instructions from management and supervisors to maximise the full potential of the site.
  • Operate and maintain a variety mobile (loading shovel, excavator) and fixed plant (Shredders, screeners) in compliance with safe systems of work.
  • Accurately record relevant data.
  • Maintain a tidy site, carrying out general cleaning duties and maintenance in accordance with 5S.
  • Ensure the continual progression of all SUEZ business systems including continual improvements, CSF’s and Organisational Clarity.
  • Ensure that within your areas of responsibility, SUEZ complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees  and of other people who may be affected by your actions or omissions.
  • Co-operate with SUEZ and with other employees in order to comply with site permit, all applicable legislation and SUEZ Policies and Procedures.
  • Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job-role.

What are the requirements?

  • We are looking for an enthusiastic team player, who will be expected to obtain a full working understanding of the site licence / permit and who will work to ensure site operations exceed the standards required.
  • As the post requires a variety of tasks to be completed a flexible approach to work is required. 
  • You will be required to undertake personal development to obtain skills for waste acceptance, maintenance of site equipment, infrastructure and operation of site machinery.   
  • Further training and development will be available.
  • Please note although mobile plant operator experience is preferred it is not essential as full training will be given.
