Are you an experienced Operations & Maintenance Technician ? You can help protect the environment and create a greener UK.

As an Operations & Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for operating and maintaining an Effluent Treatment Plant serving a brewery in South Wales.  As well as daily operational routines, you will be expected to implement front line Planned Maintenance tasks as part of your role.

The main treatment process equipment comprises of Pumping Systems / Anaerobic Wastewater Treatment / Aerobic Wastewater / Solids Handling Facilities, Chemical Dosing Installations & associated ancillary equipment.

About the role

What will I be doing as an Operations & Maintenance Technician?

As part of this role you will be working a 40 hour week over 7 days, involving weekend working, shifts are typically day shifts, Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:00, Saturday and Sunday from 08:00 to 13:00. You may also be required to provide emergency support as part of an on call rota.

What are the requirements?

  • Experience of operating Water  and/or Wastewater Treatment Plant
  • Experience of maintaining mechanical / electrical equipment
  • To be able to demonstrate through previous work experience, an ability to interpret technical information to affect changes on the plant
  • Demonstrate the ability to work within a quality system
  • Ability and knowledge to complete basic repairs and maintenance
  • Completed a Water / Wastewater competency based training programme
  • Relevant training in Environmental, Health and Safety
  • NVQ in relevant discipline and an electrical qualification (Desirable)
