About the role

This position is a PERMANENT POSITION based in Ilkeston

Hourly rate is £11.86 per hour

Normal hours of work are 45 per week. Starting time will be 4am , Mon-Fri with One hour for lunch each day. They will be expected to work alternative Saturday’s ( 1 in 3 ) for up to 5 hours, at a rate of £17.79 per hour, making a total weekly average of 48 hours per week.

What will I be doing?

Drive and operate vehicles over 7.5 tonnes

Operating the Roll on/off, Front End Loader and Euro Bin Truck,

Assist to load and unload waste from customers

To making sure loads are safely secured

To plan delivery schedules and routes with Line Managers

Provide excellent customer service

Handle customer issues effectively and contact Line Manager for assistance, if required

Drive the vehicle safely and in accordance with the law.

Look after the vehicle and ensure that it is not subjected to unnecessary damage

Ensure that all SUEZ Policy & Procedures are being adhered to at all times

Liaise with operational staff regarding vehicle related issues on a daily basis

To assist in basic maintenance, like oil, tyre and brake checks before and after journeys

What are the requirements?

Applicants must be able to demonstrate a passion for professional driving coupled with good communication skills and a willingness to be part of a successful hardworking team delivering a high level of customer service.

An LGV Class 2 license is essential

Experience of working in the waste industry is desirable, though not essential.
