About the role

  • This role is offered on a Permanent Full Time basis.
  • Hours are Monday to Friday, 9.5 hours per day.

What will I be doing?

  • Carry out instructions from line manager and management to maximise the full potential of the site and staff.
  • Responsible for the daily operations carried out on a Processing Facility.
  • Operation of various mobile and fixed plant including weighbridge operations.
  • Completion of relevant site paperwork including Daily/Weekly Checks, Stock Sheets and Environmental Returns.
  • Complete site Audits and rectify and actions required.
  • Collating Working Hours of Staff for Payroll.
  • Assist in Budgetary Control over Operations.
  • Order Equipment and Resources for site.
  • Other site duties such as litter picking, cleaning and sweeping, working outdoors and other appropriate duties.
  • Dealing with the contractors.
  • Maximise recycling and recovery within the facility.
  • Working to procedures as laid out in the company’s quality system.
  • Recording the defects on the defect sheet and notifying your line manager as necessary.
  • Ensure pedestrian and vehicle segregation at all times.
  • Ensuring SUEZ complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees and of other people who may be affected by his/her actions or omissions.
  • Co-operating with SUEZ and with other employees in order to comply with the site permit, comply with all applicable legislation, and SUEZ Policies and Procedures.
  • Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job-role.
  • Providing excellent levels of customer service.
  • Implementation of 5S and continuous improvement in line with SUEZ Business Systems

What are the requirements?

  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate effective creative problem solving skills and be able to communicate solutions effectively.
  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate a passion for recycling coupled with good communication skills and be able to work effectively as part of a team. The successful candidate must have proven skills in developing staff to create a flexible and skilled team who can meet the changing operational and commercial requirements of the business.
  • The successful candidate must aspire to be a qualified first aider and preferably have a qualification in COTC/WAMITAB. If not, he /she must have the ability to achieve the award within 12 months.
  • Experience of working within a supervisory position is essential.
  • Knowledge of and experience with IT systems is essential.
  • Experience of working in the waste industry with a broad knowledge of plant equipment is desirable, but not essential, as training is provided.
