Services Finance Intern Opportunity:- July 2020 – August 2021

Water is a scarce resource and we pride ourselves in tackling this problem head on, finding cutting edge solutions to allow our customers to recover and reuse industrial water. We are now recruiting interns, for the 2020/2021 academic year, to join us for a 13mth placement.

Peterborough facility overview:

Our UK head office site has two functional areas; an engineering facility that designs and builds mobile water treatment equipment, and a plant that regenerates ion exchange resin and works with cutting edge membrane technologies to provide mobile water treatment equipment for customers.

We are a really friendly site, big enough to give you a good introduction to the corporate world, but small enough that you will know everyone that you work with and will understand the importance of building good working relationships early in your placement.

About the role

The Opportunity:

The Finance Intern will primarily sit within our Mobile Water projects team assisting with the financial aspects of their operations across Europe.

This will include invoicing of our customers, tracking of customer purchase orders and performing profitability reviews of each customer contract. The intern will be key in ensuring that each project is delivering the expected returns to the company.

Additionally, the intern will support the finance operations of the wider UK water business  

We require candidates who are flexible and with great people skills, you won’t mind helping out with other tasks when we are busy and it’s an ‘all hands’ situation; You will understand early on that our customers matter to us.

You will spend your time across the office environment as well as getting to experience being part of an industrial factory; Working with our teams and growing in skills and confidence as you progress through the internship, leading projects and leaving a legacy of meaningful work at the end of your tenure.

This internship will have lots of opportunities for training, exploring the SUEZ business and improving your engineering knowledge and skills.

Key activity and experience you'll develop:

  • Tracking of project profitability (cashflow) and reporting results.
  • Managing customer purchase order status to drive invoicing
  • Site Procedures (including Quality check procedures)
  • Supporting the creation of invoices to external customers and internal functions.
  • Other finance support activities as required

Required qualifications / skills:

  • Under graduate on a finance related course 
  • Ideally some applied work experience
  • Strong organisation, communication, time-management and teamworking skills.
