About the role

About the role

  •  The post requires the successful candidate to work well within a team with a focus on recycling and good customer service. You will also be required to carry out a wide range of duties associated with Health and Safety and Environmental Compliance.
  • Rate of pay is £9.50. Over time payed same rate.

Working hours

  • Week 1 07.15am - 17.15pm Monday to Friday
  • Week 2 07.30am - 17.30pm Monday to Friday 
  • Week 3 08.45am - 17.30pm Monday to Friday then 07.15 - 13.30 Saturday.
  • 47.5 hours per week. 20 days holidays + Bank Holidays. 
  • Full PPE provided.

What will I be doing?

  • To work as part of a team and assist in the operational running of a busy transfer Station
  • Mobile plant training for our loading shovel with full training provided.
  • You will litter picking general site maintenance such as painting strming
  • To complete any training opportunities to meet the criteria of the role.
  • Carry out Instructions from management and supervisors to maximise the full potential of the site and staff.
  • Maintaining a tidy site, carrying out general site cleaning and maintenance
  • Help the management team with the implementation and progression of all SUEZ Business Systems including 5S, visual management and LEAN Principles
  • Ensuring that within his/her areas of responsibility, SUEZ complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees  and of other people who may be affected by his/her actions or omissions
  • Ensure that other staff, customers and site users adhere to all safe working procedures
  • Ensure the site remains with compliance
  • Complete all relevant paperwork ensuring all daily/weekly checks are carried out correctly.
  • Actively promote Health and Safety through reporting near miss and Safety in Mind observations as per SUEZ procedure
  • Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the role.

What are the requirements?

  • We are looking for an enthusiastic team player who is customer driven with excellent communication skills, with a focus on recycling to ensure that site operations exceed all the standards required. The position requires a variety of tasks to be completed so a flexible, forward thinking approach to work is needed. The successful applicant will be required to undertake and complete all personal development and training to obtain the skills for waste acceptance, maintenance of site equipment, infrastructure and the operation of site machinery.
  • Site has weighbridge that allows waste vechile in knowledge of waste industry would been an advantage but full training provided.
  • Computer understanding is a must.
  • You must be prepared for working in all different seasons.
