Industrial Project Management & Quality Intern Opportunity:- July 2020 - August 2021

Water is a scarce resource and we pride ourselves in tackling this problem head on, finding cutting edge solutions to allow our customers to recover and reuse industrial water. We are now recruiting interns, for the 2020/2021 academic year, to join us for a 13mth placement.

Peterborough facility overview:

Our UK head office site has two functional areas; an engineering facility that designs and builds mobile water treatment equipment, and a plant that regenerates ion exchange resin and works with cutting edge membrane technologies to provide mobile water treatment equipment for customers.

We are a really friendly site, big enough to give you a good introduction to the corporate world, but small enough that you will know everyone that you work with and will understand the importance of building good working relationships early in your placement.

About the role

The Opportunity:

The Services Project Management Team sit within the Fulfilment Team located within the facility & is responsible for delivering world class service throughout the life cycle of mobile water contracts across Europe, Middle East and Africa for a wide range of industries.

This includes ensuring; on time delivery of engineered mobile water treatment solutions, maximum uptime during operation, financial as well as other business objectives are achieved, importantly that customer targets are meet & excellent customer relationships are created.

The Project Management & Quality intern will work for the Lead Project Manager & EHS Leader and will be responsible for assisting the Project Management teams execution of engineered mobile water treatment solutions, including managing their own portfolio of Customer contracts acting as the Project Manager

You will spend your time across the office environment, in the lab and on the shop floor; Working with our teams and growing in skills and confidence as you progress through the internship, leading projects and leaving a legacy of meaningful work at the end of your tenure.

Outgoing and interested in how things work, you will have a natural curiosity that will prompt you to explore where we could be working smarter, faster and better, and we will see the output from this in cost savings.

You should have a natural attention to detail, that will allow you to work with the quality management system, running our document control system and helping to identify opportunities for transition to digital systems. This may include working EHS policies and procedures, internal audit documentation and taking part in site HAZOPs., it will really help with this process if you are a confident communicator. This can involve working with site and plant staff to write new procedures and QC documentation for new or missing processes.

Flexible and with great people skills, you won’t mind helping out with other tasks when we are busy and it’s an ‘all hands’ situation; You will understand early on that our customers matter to us.

Key activity and experience you'll develop:

  • Execute projects as per the Mobile Projects Lifecycle program
  • Ownership of contract compliance including make water dates as well as quality and quantity of water produced
  • Partner with Logistics, Field Service, Engineering, Production and Commercial teams to ensure service excellence
  • Coordinate & communicate project schedules and progress to Customers and internally
  • Operational oversight of active projects & coordinate technical support for issue escalation & resolution
  • Execute projects using the SAP platform for functions such as customer invoicing and project purchasing
  • Track project profitability & look for potential cost efficiencies
  • Promote continuous improvement through the completion of assigned improvement projects.
  • Actively participate in Suez quality, environment, health & safety standards in both the Peterborough facility and own remote project sites
  • Additional Plant support e.g. preparing water analysers
  • Quality Management System Control Master
  • Environmental Health and Safety Documentation and Policies
  • Site Procedures (including Quality check procedures)
  • Lab testing to ensure quality of service
  • Quality Audits
  • Utilising SAP to control equipment flow in plant

Required qualifications / skills:

  • Studying an Engineering or Industrial related degree
  • Strong Organisation, Communication, Time Management and Teamworking skills.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to continually evolving priorities
  • Good attention to detail & ingenuity in problem solving
  • Good working knowledge of Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Basic knowledge of engineering principles and documentation beneficial
