The is a full time opportunity working 44 hours per week, Sunday – Monday 07:30hrs – 18:00hrs and Tuesday – Thursday 09:30hrs – 18:00hrs, with occasional overtime as required.

About the role

What will I be doing?

Reporting into the Area Supervisor, you will look after the day-to-day operation of the busy HWRC / Transfer Station, in a hands-on role which will include manual handling activities, maintaining high standards of housekeeping and mobile plant operations:

  • Operation and routine maintenance of mobile plant items.
  • Ensure that recycling and diversion from landfill is maximised as much as possible.
  • Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed accurately and correctly returned to the Administration Department on a daily, weekly and/or monthly basis. 
  • Under the direction of management, ensure compliance with relevant legislation and company policies.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and the environmental permit for the site.
  • Responsibility for the correct use of the permit to work system.
  • Booking of Contractors loads out of the site.
  • Travel to undertake training requirements as well as to other sites in the area for staff cover.
  • Any other reasonable request or duties.

What are the requirements?

You will need to have worked in supervisor roles before and hold a nationally recognised loading shovel licence, or recent experience of operating loading shovels. This along with any operating of shredders and screeners would be a big advantage, but a flexible approach to and the desire and ability to work to a very high standard is essential.

  • You will be required to work under your own initiative and have a “can do” attitude.
  • You will possess good communication skills as this is an essential part of the role when dealing with Staff and site management. Knowledge or experience of using computers would be advantageous.
  • You will also be required to support and maintain SUEZ R&R’S proactive approach to health and Safety and help ensure we protect the environment by ensuring our operations minimise any potential harm to the environment.

You will either already hold or be expected to achieve the IOSH Managing Safely Qualification and First Aid in the workplace
