About the role

What will I be doing?

  • Your primary focus will be supporting the recycling operation at the transfer station
  • Providing excellent levels of customer service you will liaise with various customers to ensure the site achieves the maximise recovery of materials they are depositing, which will involve:
  • Maintaining accurate records for the removal of materials from the site
  • Identifying recyclable materials for extraction within the waste stream and separating them into the individual products
  • Maintaining a tidy site within his/her areas of responsibility
  • Ensuring SUEZ complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees and of other people who may be affected by his/her actions or omissions
  • Co-operating with SUEZ and with other employees in order to comply with the site permit, comply with all applicable legislation, and SUEZ Policies and Procedures
  • Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job-role.

What are the requirements?

  • With the potential to gain qualifications including IOSH health & safety and COTC level 4 (waste industry specific), we are looking for an enthusiastic team player who will be expected to join the current site team to ensure operations exceed the standards required.
  • A flexible approach to work will be advantageous as you will be expected to cover holiday and sick days if required.
  • A good level of customer service and team work approach
  • A positive attitude to working in tough conditions
  • Ideally some prior mobile plant use is desirable but full training will be given.
