As an Assistant Bid Manager, you’ll be working in our Public Sector Development team who are responsible for bidding for local authority waste and recycling contracts. Local authorities have a statutory obligation to provide waste services to their residents which has meant tender processes have continued despite the challenges presented by the pandemic.

About the role

What will I be doing?

  • Working alongside bid managers to develop solutions for public sector tenders including waste collection, street cleansing and the development and operation of waste management facilities (e.g. Material, recycling facilities, Household Waste Recycling Centres).
  • Main responsibilities include analysing data, assisting in development of the written submission and coordinating information from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Preparation and submission of pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs) to ensure the bid team has the maximum number of opportunities available to them.
  • Conducting industry-level research to help inform the pipeline of opportunities, develop innovative solutions and deepen knowledge and understanding of the waste and resources sector.

What are the requirements?

  • Experience of working in a bidding environment, the waste management and resources sector or for a local authority is essential
  • Degree or equivalent desirable but not essential
  • Occasional UK-wide travel and overnight stays required
