It’s a career that’s not only exciting, but full of opportunities as well as professional and personal fulfilment.

About the role

What will I be doing as the UKAS Quality Manager?

You will have responsibility for SUEZ’s laboratory quality management system, ensuring the establishment, implementation and maintenance, identifying and improving methods, also maintaining the ISO 17025:2017.

Your primary areas of overall responsibility will include:

  • the management of non-conforming work and of corrective and preventive actions.
  • planning and organising audits, according to the schedule and as requested by management.
  • the management and review of laboratory quality control, laboratory PT, inter-lab testing and the overall annual procedure review.
  • training and competency monitoring of laboratory personnel.

You will also carry out annual reviews of customer feedback forms, to ensure the customer's needs are being met, whilst developing quality standards for new analytical methods for continuous improvement. You’ll also have the opportunity to provide input into management review meetings, directly carry out testing and deputise for the laboratory manager.

What are the requirements?

As well as being qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in a chemistry-based subject, you will have an extensive knowledge of analytical laboratory techniques along with quality management and related systems.

With excellent communications skills, and confident enough in your expertise to mentor laboratory team members, you will need:

  • a good knowledge of a number of analytical techniques, such as ICP and IC.
