About the role

What will I be doing?

You will manage the daily operations, at multiple Transfer Loading Stations (TLS) in the Greater Manchester region, making sure all sites are staffed and operating in compliance with the current legislation, company policies and contractual requirements.

This will also include ensuring all operations regarding the running of the sites are carried out with maximum safety and efficiency, achieved through:

  • Forecast and control of the revenue budget for the Regional TLS’s, resulting in cost effective and profitable operations
  • Good management, communication and training. Targetting that relevant Key Performance Indicators are met and that all site staff are competent in their role and aware of the company vision
  • Safeguard the maintenance and repair of all plant, machinery and site infrastructure, so it is carried out expediently, efficiently and in compliance with current legislation, company procedures and contractual requirements.

You will also be accountable for the delivery of continuous improvement programs to achieve maximum efficiencies and through put, relating to: TLS operations, Recycling, Delivery of Budget, Health & Safety along with Quality and Environmental accreditation.

What are the requirements?

You will have substantial relevant experience with a proven track record in a similar role, managing waste treatments / production facilities or similar production orientated sites before, having led and inspired teams.

With additional commercial acumen, great communication and organisational skills, you'll also ideally have:

  • A COTC qualification in treatment (or ability to gain this)
  • An IOSH Managing Safely qualification (NEBOSH general certificate would be even better, but isn’t essential, as any required training can and will be provided).
  • Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
  • Good negotiation, presentational, planning and decision making skills.
  • Ability to deal effectively and timely with conflicting pressures of work.

What is essential is an eye for detail and efficiency, with the drive to complete every task to the highest standard, but equally approachable and supportive to get the best results in the most positive way.
