Are you an experienced Field Service Engineer / Technician, with a background in the water treatment industry? 

SUEZ Water Technologies and Solutions (SWTS) provide our customers with technology and expertise to enhance their water, wastewater, and process productivity.

The Role

This position is an additional role for the SUEZ business to allow us to support the customer requirements in the North East of England. The primary purpose of the role is to support a SUEZ water treatment plant on a customer site providing water 24 hours a day.  Normal working hours would be 9-5 Monday-Friday (call outs notwithstanding). In addition to providing cover for this site there would be an expectation to support other Suez Water customers at dispersed sites.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Installs and services chemical feed and water treatment equipment at designated locations. 
  • Acts as the local technical consultant and liaison with customer management and customer representatives at site. 
  • Provides service and support to prescribed customer sites. 
  • Coordinates functions with Area Field Services Lead/Management/Senior Field Service Representatives (FSRs) 
  • Performs water analysis and/or collects samples for preparation, labelling and shipment to designated laboratory for analysis.
  • Completes and distributes on site report based on any work carried out at site. 
  • Troubleshoots and repairs pumps, instruments, and control panels. 
  • Calibrates feed pumps, controllers, feed rate charts and maintains log sheets. 
  • Conducts preventative maintenance on water treatment plant, chemical feed pumps, controllers, and instrumentation. 
  • Maintains inventory of spare parts (lube oil, tubing, piping, etc.), and adequate supply of reagents, sample containers, and shipment containers necessary for routine as well as special sampling and analysis. 
  • Relays Customer feedback to Field Services, Commercial and/or Technical Department. 
  • Recommends appropriate site procedural and/or policy changes that will help overall effectiveness. 
  • Is flexible in role and can support other sites at distributed geographic locations within region. 
  • Travels to and provides support to/operates Mobile projects if/when necessary. 
  • Remains on call-out duty when required as prescribed by the UKIN team call out schedules. (nominally 1 week in 4) after full training.
  • Conducts training of customer and other personnel to enable them to operate prescribed BOO/Mobile equipment safely and effectively when FSR is not on site. 
  • Conducts training of company trainees in the various site technical functions encompassed by the position of Field Service Representative.

Qualifications

  • A qualification in a suitable Science, Engineering or technical discipline is preferred or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Mechanical based experience from apprenticeships and/or site experience of maintenance, would be considered suitable equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • A Level or equivalent Chemistry is desirable or equivalent knowledge and experience. 
  • Full UK Driving licence is essential.
