We are currently recruiting a Recycling Centre Advisor to work at our site in Launceston, Cornwall. 

The position is permanent, full time and is available for immediate start. Additional training and career advancement is supported and encouraged.

What will I be doing?

The role of the Recycling Centre Advisor involves meeting and greeting members of the public in a polite and friendly manner, who are looking to recycle their household waste at the Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC).

Once welcomed, it would be your responsibility to help the member of public reach the correct receptacles for their household items they wish to recycle/dispose making sure their experience is positive whilst also ensuring the Waste Hierarchy is applied to the material presented.

The role will also see involvement within a raft of exciting sustainability projects across the site which focus on improving our social and environmental operational impact.

The Recycling Centre Advisor position will require the individual to be welcoming customers onto the site in all weathers and be comfortable with the lifting of materials. There will be further duties on the site including general housekeeping and cleaning.

Health and safety is key to us so you'll be trained on the correct handling of waste items, manual handling and issued with full personal protective equipment (PPE).

What are the requirements?

With the potential to gain qualifications including IOSH health & safety and COTC level 4 (waste industry specific), we are looking for an enthusiastic team player who will be expected to join the current site team to ensure operations exceed the standards required. 

What you will need is:

A good level of customer service and ability to work in a team.

A flexible approach to work will be advantageous as you will be expected to cover holiday and sick days if required.

Ideally prior mobile plant use is desirable but full training will be given.
