About The Role

  • Vacancy: LGV Class 2 Driver
  • Location: I&C, Pool MRF, Wilson Way, Redruth, TR15 3RT. 
  • Start: Immediate Start available
  • This position is a temporary position until 31/10/2021.
  • The working hours are Monday to Friday, starting times can range from 04:00 to 06:00, finish times can vary depending on the needs of the business’s day to day needs.
  • Saturday working is required, this is done on a rota basis.

What will I be doing?

  • The role will involve the driving and operation of vehicles collecting commercial waste and recycling from our customers, delivering a high standard of service and ensuring compliance with our companies Health and Safety rules.
  • The work will generally be on a Refuse Collection Vehicle and RoRo’s.
  • The role will be mainly holiday cover covering our existing routes, on occasion we may need you to work from our Bodmin depot but transport is provided. 

What are the requirements?

• You must be able to demonstrate a passion for professional driving coupled with good communication skills and a willingness to be part of a successful hardworking team delivering a high level of customer service.

• An LGV Class 2 license, digital tachygraphy card as well as a Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) card are essential.

• Experience of working in the waste industry is desirable though not essential.

• Good knowledge of tachygraph laws.

• Experience is preferred but full training will be given.

• Monday to Friday is paid at the basic pay rate of £10.45 per hour on a 45 hour contract, overtime is payable after 45 hours completed work at time and a half.

• Saturdays are paid at time and a half.

• Sundays are paid at double time.

• Bank Holidays are paid at double time and a day in lieu.

What are the requirements?

  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate a passion for professional driving coupled with good communication skills and a willingness to be part of a successful hardworking team delivering a high level of customer service.
  • An LGV Class 2 license as well as a CPC card are essential.
  • Experience of working in the waste industry is desirable, however is not essential.
  • Experience of working with Stillage Vehicles – Kerbside Loaders and RCV is desirable but not essential as training will be given where necessary.
