About the role

What will you be doing as a Production Process Engineer?

Working with the operational team throughout the region, you will ensure optimisation of processes by providing detailed analysis of processing loss data, seeking ways to improve performance, lead change and optimise the efficiency of operations value stream. You will be the key technical link for the processing division, to the resources of key stakeholders and wider business.

Your primary objective will be to establish a strong and cohesive link between the Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Commercial, Technical and Business Transformation functions, promoting a collaborative culture to enable the successful delivery of budgets and other required operational metrics, driving continuous improvement.

Some specific responsibilities will include to:

  • Facilitate / Coordinate Six Sigma Lean Principles on Root Cause & Corrective Actions (RCCA) activities, utilising lean tools and testing new processes.
  • Stimulate RCCA process by value stream to solve variations to process control, repeat and catastrophic failure to prevent recurrence.
  • Develop, analyse and enhance processing methods to assist production requirements.
  • Attain targets for process productivity, process yield and P&L via OPEX control.
  • Support on projects for new business ventures such as alternative offtake markets.
  • Liaise with installation/project engineers and specialists.

What will you need for the role?

An excellent communicator and influencer, you will have a professional and confident approach, having worked with stakeholders of all levels. You’ll be able to demonstrate initiative and a logical approach, capable of interrogating process data and then presenting findings to colleagues and managements.

You will ideally have a sound understanding of processing in the recycling industry, ideally degree qualified (or equivalent), with an Engineering bias, preferable Process Engineering. Additionally, you will need to be:

  • able to interrogate process data and identify patterns, areas of loss and opportunities for improvement.
  • highly IT literate with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel, PowerPoint and Word (any Access or Project being highly beneficial.
  • able to demonstrate existing knowledge of PLC's (Programmable Logic Controller), or an ability and willingness to learn and gain recognised qualifications.
