  • 5 days 42.5 hrs per week including some weekend work £9.29 per hour
  • Location: Brynsworthy, Roundswell, Barnstaple

What will I be doing?

You will carry out the operation of loading shovel & tele-handler loading waste into bulk haulage walking floors to be sent to EFW plant or other disposal points as required, we also use a 360 Material re-handler for separation of waste suitable for EFW. In addition to this you will be expected to work in our weighbridge weighing vehicles in and out of the site and to complete general site duties and cleaning.

This will involve

  • Complete pre-operational safety and operator checks.
  • Complete daily checks and maintenance of mobile plant, Fixed Plant and equipment used at the facility.
  • Ensuring that all deliveries of waste follow the site licence and any associated paperwork is completed.
  • Carry out inspections on incoming product(s) in line with the site Waste Acceptance Criteria and report any non-compliant loads.
  • Direct vehicles to the correct disposal areas.
  • Comply fully with all company and local procedures.
  • Ensure the site is always kept clean and tidy.
  • Assist staff with their duties during end of shift clean-ups including mobile plant.
  • Contribute to lean and 5’s activities across the site in order to maintain a clean, organised and efficient workplace.
  • To work as part of a team and to maintain an efficient and cost-effective operation.
  • Ensuring that SUEZ complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees.
  • Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job role.

What are the requirements?

  • For immediate impact, we are ideally seeking an experienced plant operator, who holds the relevant CITB/CPCS/NPORS certification or equivalent, however for the right candidate training can be given.
  • We are looking for an enthusiastic team player, who will be expected to join the current site team to ensure site operations exceed the standards.
  • A flexible approach to work will be advantageous as you will be expected to cover holiday and sick days if required.
  • A safety conscious approach with the desire to develop & embrace change to promote continuous improvement.
  • Previous experience within the waste industry or other high-volume production processes is an advantage, but not a necessity.

What are the requirements?

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player, who will be expected to obtain a full working understanding of the site licence / permit and who will work to ensure site operations exceed the standards required.

  • A flexible approach to work will be advantageous, as you will be expected to cover holiday and sick days if required.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undertake personal development to obtain skills for waste acceptance, operation and maintenance of site equipment.
  • Having basic administration skills for the recording of data on SUEZ R & R UK’s reporting systems will also be advantageous.
