About the role

This position is a full time permanent role working nights. 
The working hours are Monday to Thursday – 19:00 hrs to 05:30 hrs at a pay rate of £9.60 per hour.

What will I be doing as a Plant Cleaner?

The role will involve carrying out maintenance cleaning activities in line with a preventative maintenance scheme when the fixed plant is shut down overnight. Guided by our Supervisors you will be working to ensure the cleanliness of the plant does not affect its operation. 
Your task will be to undertake the cleaning of critical items of the sorting plant, ranging from the Metering Bin, Baler and Optical Sorters, ensuring each machine is clean and ready to begin sorting at the next shift.


Cleaning will consist of: 
•    Removing wrapped materials from rotating machinery following safe working procedures
•    Clearing material build-up from areas not accessible whilst the plant is running
•    Clearing dust build-ups and general cleaning of machinery
•    Light mechanical duties/assistance where required
•    Any other tasks deemed suitable

What are the requirements?

  • Experience of working with and cleaning fixed or mobile plant (Preferable) 
  • Experience of working with Lock off/ Tag off systems (Preferable)
  • Self-discipline and have good time management
  • Be able to work well as part of a team
  • A flexible approach to work 
  • Basic mechanical knowledge
  • Keen to improve their knowledge, experience, training and abilities since SUEZ will provide training to all successful applicants.
