DETS is a dynamic market leading provider of laboratory services operating in the environmental sector.  We are looking for a Sales Manager, with a proven record of success in a sales related role/industry, strong customer focus and and good technical undertanding and knowledge of environmental testing. Your ability to articulate and prepare an affective sales pitch is critical to your success in this role.

What will I be doing?

Driving New Business Sales nationally to ensure the sales potential is fully developed, generate client /prospect quotes all the while ensuring the delivery of sales in accordance with sales targets.

What are the requirements?

Qualifications required to do this role:

  • Proven track record of achieving targets
  • 5 years sales experience minimum in a technical role would be ideal but not essential
  • Ability to prove initiative and a “go get” attitude
  • Sciences graduate desirable but degree not critical

Experience required to do this role:

  • Experience in selling products or services.
  • Laboratory industry experience would be advantageous.
  • Proven record of success in a sales related role/industry.

  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Proactive attitude to driving new business
  • Highly numerate
  • Great time and planning skills
  • Ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into viable business opportunities.
  • Have the ability to clearly articulate and prepare an effective sales pitch.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Salesforce skills, while not essential, would be desirable.

Who we are

DETS is a private limited company set up in 1999 and is part of the SUEZ Group since April 2016. Steady expansion has allowed the company to gain a larger market share, and to increase the scope of analyses offered in order to service a wide variety of industry requirements.

Over 100 staff are now employed in our laboratories, and many are well respected within the industry, actively serving on committees and groups such as EIC, AGS, MCERTS, Landfill Regulation, and the Standing Committee of Analysts (see the Management Team section for further details).

DETS are accredited to ISO 17025 and MCERTS for an extensive range of analyses, and are also accredited for sampling.  Samples can be accepted from outside the UK, as a DEFRA import license is also available.
