Campground Transfer Station but may be required to work at other locations within South Tyne & Wear

What will I be doing?

This role is an ideal opportunity to learn about the recovery and recycling of household waste.  SUEZ R & R UK is committed to the training and progression of its employees and can offer you the opportunity for future advancement and development within our company.

  • May be required to provide cover at other locations so a driving license is required and own transport would be an advantage.
  • Experience operating loading shovels and 360 material handlers preferred though not essential as training will be provided.
  • Shift pattern will be 4 days on/4 days off -12 hour shifts.
  • Maintaining a tidy and safe site.
  • Ensuring that within your areas of responsibility, SUEZ R & R complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees and of other people who may be affected by his/her actions or omissions
  • Co-operating with SUEZ R & R and with other employees in order to comply with site permit and all applicable legislation which complies with SUEZ R & R Policies and Procedures.
  • To undertake first aider duties and fire warden duties on site.
  • Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job-role

What are the requirements?

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player, who will be expected to obtain a full working understanding of the site licence / permit and who will work to ensure site operations exceed the standards required.

  • A flexible approach to work will be advantageous, as you will be expected to cover holiday and sick days if required.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undertake personal development to obtain skills for waste acceptance, operation and maintenance of site equipment.
  • Having basic administration skills for the recording of data on SUEZ R & R UK’s reporting systems will also be advantageous.
