About the role

You will be working Monday to Friday – 8:30 – 17:00, 1 hour lunch break but there is some travel required outside of these working hours.

You will be working across the UK but primarily based within the central region.

What will I be doing?

The post holder will work alongside the Hydrogeologist and will undertake all aspects of groundwater related interpretative and investigative work. This will involve producing conceptual site models for hydrogeological risk assessments, interpretation of risk results and environmental monitoring data to support technical reviews.

In addition the post holder will also be required to assist in similar assessments for perimeter ground gas working with the operations team gas engineers.

Numerical modelling is a key element and proficiency in stochastic and spreadsheet based models will be necessary.

Additionally, the Hydrogeology Team is responsible for managing the monitoring database and the post holder will be required to assist with problem resolution and development of the database. The data is used by the Hydrogeology team to produce Annual Reports for each landfill site as well as technical reports.

From time to time there will also be a need to work on contaminated land projects, provide technical assessments as part of acquisition due diligence and work alongside similar technical experts from across the industry in developing best practice through the Environmental Services Association (ESA).

What are the requirements?

The ability to analyse information and to present this logically in writing technical reports and clearly presenting data is essential for the role, as reports are required to be clear and accurate to ensure that various customers fully understand the content.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a large multi-disciplinary team, as well as being willing to work individually is essential and to lead contractors and consultants teams in your area of expertise with the confidence of those working above and below you.

Enthusiastic, confident, self-motivated and dynamic with excellent verbal and written communication.
