About the role

As a Loader at SUEZ recycling and recovery UK, you’ll be contributing to an ever-growing established company that’s helping customers reduce their impact on the environment, conserve natural resources and reduce landfill.

  • The vacancy is initially for a fixed term contract to cover our seasonal green waste service and the Christmas collections through to mid-January 2023, although this may lead on to permanent roles if vacancies arise.
  • If no permanent vacancies are available, then there may be the option to renew the contract in March 2023, subject to performance
  • The working week will generally be Tuesday to Friday, but some occasional weekend work may be required as necessary.
  • Hours per week = 39 (7am-5.15pm with 30 minutes unpaid break). 
  • Based at Kirk Sandall
  • Hourly rate £10.41, reviewed annually

 What will I be doing?

The role will involve the loading of vehicles collecting municipal recycling and waste from households, delivering a high standard of service and ensuring compliance with health and safety rules and contractual requirements at all times. 

What are the requirements?

 

  • You must be able to demonstrate reliability, good communication skills and a willingness to be part of a successful hardworking team 
  • Excellent at delivering a high level of customer service.
  • Experience of working in the waste industry is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience of working with waste vehicles is desirable but not essential as training will be given where necessary.
  • Experience of working with hand-held communications devices (similar to a smart phone) would be advantageous. 
  • The role requires a good standard of fitness as it mostly involves moving and loading bins onto the refuse collection vehicle
