Summary of vacancy

Oversee the delivery of the social value initiatives identified by SUEZ to deliver the commitments agreed by the south east regional management team.
These are outlined in the Regional Social Value Delivery Plan for the South East Region.
Deliver the commitment made by SUEZ to maximise its social, economic and environmental impact, benefitting the South East residents, communities and businesses.

About the role

What will I be doing as a Partnership and Social Value Coordinator?

You will oversee delivery of a number of social value commitments, working closely and collaboratively with operational management and support teams to maximise the social, economic and environmental benefits we can bring to residents, businesses and communities.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Formal monitoring and reporting on the delivery of the social value commitments to regional management team on a monthly basis.
- Working collaboratively with the operational management and support teams to deliver the commitments fostering relationships with key stakeholders.
- Link with SUEZ employees across the UK to bring opportunities and expertise into the South East region, sharing successes and lessons learned across the business.
- Generate finance and resources, so that the initiatives are self-funding.
- Engage with key stakeholders in the local communities to the operational facilities, reflecting and meeting local needs.
- Review the Social Value commitments as part of annual service improvement plans, committing to a philosophy of continuous improvement through stretch targets.
- Further develop the partnership working with Ministry of Justice (MoJ) to expand the placement of Release On Temporary Licence (ROTL) scheme in the south east region.
- Broaden partnership with local prisons to widen the opportunity for onsite work shop experience.
- Assist in the development of Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) training schools in conjunction with MoJ.
- Develop re-use opportunities within the South East region. E.g. Carbon Zero Guildford
- Responsible for the delivery of the South East Social Value Delivery Plan.
- Deliver the successful integration of the HITZ partnership with English Rugby and SUEZ.

What are the requirements?

- Ability to collect, analyse, interpret and communicate data, in a concise and professional manner, to the South East regional management team.
- Relationship building with contacts within Surrey County Council (SCC) and other regional partners
- Ability to communicate enthusiastically to ensure buy in from all regional stakeholders.
- The ability to set social value projects and associated KPIs from conception to delivery.
- Ability to identify and exploit additional opportunities to add value across the region.
- The ability to put together a tender, source a supplier, set up a contract and monitor delivery of contract performance targets.

Whilst the requirements of this role are 37.5 hours per week, flexible working will be considered, although you'll need the ability to travel in the UK, with occasional overnight stays.

We are looking for a candidate who is professional in communication, a good relationship builder, a strong decision maker and a conscientious reliable team player

The ideal candidate would have the following knowledge:

  • Understanding of the waste industry.
  • Understanding of added social value
  • Understanding the value of Social Profit Calculation.
  • Knowledge of legislation/policy that may create opportunities for added social value.
  • General understanding of the reuse and recycling industry
  • Knowledge of third sector (charities and community groups) would be advantageous
