About the role

What will I be doing?

  • Reporting into the Senior Production Manager , you will look after the day-to-day operations of the Transfer Station at Williton.
  • To oversee the operation and routine maintenance of all mobile plant items.
  • Ensure that recycling is maximised as much as possible & recycling collection vehicles are segregating the materials correctly.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and the environmental permit for the site is maintained.
  • Ensure all relevant paperwork is accurately completed and correctly returned to the Administration Department on a daily, weekly and/or monthly basis. 
  • Responsible for the correct use of the permit to work system.
  • Booking of loads out of the site using Material Manager System. 
  • Travel to undertake training requirements as well as travel to other sites in the area for staff cover.


What are the requirements?

  • A broad knowledge of mobile plant and any other applicable equipment used within the Waste Management and Recycling industry.
  • We are ideally seeking an experienced plant operator, who holds a counterbalance forklift and tele-handler license. However training will be available. 
  • You must be capable of working within a team and have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • An understanding of safe waste handling and recycling practices is desirable.
  • A degree of overtime and flexibility is required, as the operations run over a 5-day week, & you are also required to work Saturdays following  English Bank Holidays.

Working patterns will be Monday-Friday 06:00 to 14:30 or 08:30 to 17:00 with half hour lunch break.
