  • The hourly rate for this role is £11.56, reviewed in April each year.
  •  A conditional driver supplement of £71.60 per week is also in place temporarily and will be discussed with you if you are shortlisted for interview. 
About the role

What will I be doing as a Driver Loader?

  • The role will involve the driving and operation of vehicles collecting household waste and recycling from our customers, delivering a high standard of service and ensuring compliance with our customer’s Health and Safety rules as well as our own at all times.
  • You will be required to operate our in-cab technology system to make a record of collections.
  • As this is a driver/loader role you may occasionally be required to load for full shifts but will still be paid the driver rate. 
  • This is a full-time, permanent role based at Doncaster Waste Transfer Station. 
  • Working days are Tuesday to Friday - 10 hours per day. 

What are the requirements?

  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate a passion for professional driving coupled with good communication skills and a willingness to be part of a successful hardworking team delivering a high level of customer service.
  • An LGV Class 2 license as well as a CPC card and Digital Tachograph card are essential.
  • Experience of working in the waste industry is desirable, however is not essential.
  • Experience of working with refuse collection vehicles is desirable but not essential as training will be given where necessary.
  • As the role includes loading, you must be physically fit to meet the needs of the loading task.
  • Experience of using in cab technology to record collections and deliveries would be advantages but full training will be given.
  • New drivers will be considered.
