About the role

What will I be doing?

  • To supervise and manage operational staff on the South Gloucestershire contract, monitoring the quality of the work undertaken, liaise with client officers and staff to include members of the public to ensure customer and client quality satisfaction.
  • To promote a positive engaged workforce and working environment.
  • Support employees to ensure all daily work tasks are completed in line with contractual specification
  • Deliver outstanding customer service striving to exceed expectations
  • Completion of AM / PM service reports
  • Ensure all training is carried out in line with the depot training matrix.
  • Ensure all crews are out briefed with relevant operational information including any flash briefings
  • Complete daily allocation sheet to reflect correct staffing levels, must be completed the day before operation
  • All Mayrise tickets are dealt with and closed daily in line with service level agreement
  • All accidents/incidents entered on to the company IRIS database within the three-day agreement, all incidents to be fully investigated
  • All crews to be de-briefed to collate collection data to include access issues/point of store etc., complete daily round sheets for file
  • All fleet compliance is adhered to, maintenance planner/service requirements, torque planner updated
  • Checks are made to ensure driver log books are in compliance with recorded hours
  • Monthly Toolbox talks completed to include safety and generic issues
  • Absenteeism managed through Bradford Score Report supplied via HR department
  • Daily communication with operational staff to ensure service levels are adhered to.

What are the requirements?

  • You must be able to demonstrate a good working practice and be able to make decisions accordingly.
  • Working with and managing a team, you must preferably have previous recycling and waste management experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience is essential.
  • IOSH qualification
  • Experience of working within a busy logistics operation involving fleet compliance is also desirable.
  • You must have or be able to achieve within a 12 month period COTC in transfer and treatment of Hazardous waste and also a CPC in national road haulage will be required.
  • You will require a driving licence, good IT skills and previous experience with Microsoft packages.
  • A Class 2 LGV Licence
